The first Fall / Winter 2021-2022 women’s collection designed by Kim Jones for Fendi debuted at Milan Fashion Week last February. After the Spring / Summer 2021 collection, the British creative director is confronted with the colder season and for this occasion Kim Jones starts from the origins and heritage of the Maison.
The show presented in live streaming takes place in a setting formed with transparent exhibition glass cases containing capitals, columns and Roman ruins, a tribute to the Italian capital where the LVMH brand is based.
Long and structured coats end with dancing fringes, suede jackets in camel shades take on new unexpected shapes while those in mink with wide sleeves become the new outerwear of the season.
At the center remains the fur, reinterpreted in a contemporary version. Fendi is one of the few remaining luxury houses to use real fur, in contrast with Versace, Armani and Prada who have signed a solidarity pact for sustainable fashion.
