Lady Gaga will be Lady Gucci in the film directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It will be shot in Milan starting from March and will touch the most central places in Milan, but also of Lake Como. Lady Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of the businessman killed in 1995, a murder for which she was sentenced to 26 years in prison. Also in the cast are Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Adam Driver and Jeremy Irons.
Some scenes will be shot in Corso Venezia, where Maurizio Gucci lived and where he was killed on the morning of March 27, 1995 by a hitman. A black story that has fascinated Italy and the whole world, including fortune tellers, revelations, families at war, money and grudges.
The film will arrive in American cinemas on November 4 and will tell the story of three generations of the family linked to the maison. For the screenplay, Scott drew on the novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamor and Greed, written by Sara Gay Forden. The film adaptation is curated by Roberto Bentivegna, who seems to have preserved the familiar epic of the book, tracing a story made of love, passions, intrigues and jealousies. Obsessed with the failure of marriage and fed by hatred towards her husband, she did it: Patrizia Reggiani decided the tragic fate of Maurizio Gucci.
The trial ended in 1997 and Reggiani was sentenced to 26 years in prison as principal. She attempted suicide in prison in 2000, but was saved. After refusing the proposal to take advantage of the freedom regime, Reggiani will return to freedom in February 2017. Her version of events has been told in several documentaries and TV programs.
